Josh Wink's Herehear, I have that CD for a long long time.
I only like a few songs though, Sixth Sense and Black Bomb.
I also got Profound Sound 1, it was fun, but not as good as I thought.

the only time i found black bomb for download it was listed as a nine inch nails remix... but i'm seeing reznor listed in the credits on amg... so are there multiple versions? or is it just a case of misnamed mp3s...

I know Trent contributed the vocal for Black Bomb. i will have to check my cd at home to see what the credit says about trent on that track.
as far as remixes go, I really don't know if trent remixed this song. maybe Josh can tell you more, our Josh, not Josh Wink.

actually I would expect it to be a mislabeled mp3...the actual title of the song is "Black Bomb (Jerry in the Bag)" so one may think it's a remix, titled like that possibly...

the business
so i assume you like the hard noisy stuff? it really depends...but the harder forms of edm (electronic dance music) are hard techno, hard house, hardcore, psytrance, gabber, acid trance/techno, and hard trance. sometimes drum & bass can be pretty noisy but i'm sticking with the 4/4 stuff here. hard trance is usually not too noisy, and neither is psytrance usually, which is characterized by a more psychadelic, mental aspect with alot of the "acid basslines," which is hard to describe verbally but sounds like you'd think. acid trance or acid techno also is characterized by the acid sound and is very similar and more likely to be noisy than psytrance. gabber and hardcore techno is the hardest, fastest and noisiest of them all, we're talking 160 + bpm, speaker-destroying "devil music." it's hard to miss this. i'd say since you're talking about clubs in chicago, you're hearing the typical "chicago techno" sound, hard driving clattery techno with screecht noisy distorted basslines and synth lines, or hard house which is pretty darn similar, lots of sireny, video gamey sounds. as for artists there are sooooooo many, dj-wise i know a couple of the big names that live there or are from there, mike dearborn, robert armani are probly the most likely to be playing that kind of stuff...really i would say look online, search for hard house, har techno, chicago techno and see what y ou can dig up, it would take me a day and a half to explain it all. =]
hope that helps a little, it's really hard to describe the subtle differences between similar stylles of edm, and there are so many artists out there.

acid, hard tek, whatever
Aha, at last someone who might be interested in acid! I don't know about clubs 'cuz I only go to squadhouses, nicer atmosphere and better music. But if you look for acid you should check the UK scene, now dominating the acid scene. Current evolution is towards acid rave music. Chris Liberator (from the Liberator collective) is the most famous one nowadays. Labels: Routemaster, Stay Up Forever, Boscaland (trance - house -acid), Acid Test Pressings, ...
Artists: Rebel Yelle, Kektex, Beverly Hills 808303, Chris Liberator, Dave The Drummer, DDR, DJ ESP, Punk Floyd, Woody mcBride...
If you need some start don't hesitate to mail me or check my account on Soulseek: ddecavele. I have a lot of acid, acidcore, breakcore, hard tek, electro, ...

yeah, actually when i tell this you'll laugh: i'm actually a friend of rowland the bastard, and chris liberator...my friend john is going to london to work for stay up forever, so i know about some acid!!! =] lol ... i've never been as big a fan of the acid, i mostly spin more straight up hard techno, although the stuff some of the acid guys (chris/aaraon/julien liberator, geezer, rowland, dave the drummer) have been putting out lately has been more straight forward hard tech and has consequently been in my sets frequently. i have a mix online @ www.koala-tea.com/music/colin_pierce
if yer interested =] i can send you a tracklist if you email me, it's all hard tech, 3 dx, no f/x
