Headphone advice needed

I am looking for headphones for Christmas for about £50-£60. I have read lots of reviews but none of them tell me which are the most durable. They are to be used for listening to hi-fi at home and able to withstand 2 toddlers (that's how I lost my previous ones)! Music includes trance, metal and everything in between. Can anyone give me some advice please?

Well, my personal headphones are Yamaha RH-5Ma Monitor Headphones which I've used religiously for 5 years now and they sound fantastic for any type of audio. Very accurate sound reproduction of mids, lows, and highs, comfortable, very generous in the cord length department and durable. [I go through about 1 pair per year only because I use them about 6 hours a day every day and they can get exposed to some harsh treatment at times]

I'm not sure if these would be what you're looking for as I'm hardly an expert in these matters, but I just thought I'd suggest them as I've been very happy w/ them. Right now they run for about $40-$50 US I believe. Just thought I'd throw them out as a possible solution for you.

I have a pair of sennheiser HD 497s, which I believe are in your price range. I have very little to compare them to, but I like them!
