i like some blur... depends on my mood though... i'd say their 'great escape' album is one of the best pop rock records ever... and i also liked their self titled album quite a bit... thirteen was ok but pretty dark... didn't hear their newest stuff... never really got into their older stuff either...

I saw them live not even a week ago: they're maybe not as "fresh" as they were some years ago, but they sound more mature, although you can't fail to notice Mr. Coxon's departure.
I'd say you should start by Parklife, poppy and colourful, and then maybe Blur, more aggressive but addictive; the rest of their discography is not that balanced, I'm afraid..

I really like blur, when I was younger, 6 years ago, I was a huge fan!! I have a lot of their albums. I don't listen a lot at them anymore, because they have changed, I have changed...

I own Modern Life is Rubbish and the self-titled album, but I never listen to either of them. I was pretty angry when I heard they got rid of guitarist Coxon for the new record. Honestly, I think the Gorillaz album is the best thing Damon Albarn has ever been involved with.

to each their own but i thought the gorillaz project was pretty lame... the concept was ok and the potential was fantastic... but there's just something about an album where the singles are by far the best songs on the album that doesn't seem right to me...

I was about to post my thoughts on Blur, but then I saw what Josiewitchgirl wrote and I have to say that I agree with her completely. "Parklife" first, check. "Blur" second, check. No other essentials, check. Anyways, hsmusic-chk, I'm sure you'll be happy with your purchase. Definitely check them out!
