I was never a big fan of the band until I got their Midian album which is an amazing work. I am planning on ordering Dusk and Her Embrace by them as soon as possible because I hear that it is supposed to actually be better than Midian. There are most certainly better black metal bands out there, but I figure that I might as well give them a shot since their lyrics are so gorgeous.

When I was a kid there were groups like Cannibal Corpse...Atheist (progressive Death Metal, I guess), Death, Morbid Angel, and thrash metal stuff (Reign in Blood!!!)...etc.

I can no longer keep up with you guys.

Where did all this Black Metal and Power Metal stuff come from?

There are literally THOUSANDS of these bands now!

At least give me the major divisions...recent death metal for dummies...who are the great ones?
