just listened to "The Mollusk" and their newest "Quebec"...quite varied albums, but most of their stuff is that way anyway...hard to listen to at times, but Gene is a hell of a guitarist
I never thought much of ween until I saw them live. Then I was blown away. I don't know why there production is so bad sometimes. I'm all for crazy effects but sometimes they go to far. There live album has pretty poor sound too.The sound at there show's is been better then anything they have put out. Sometimes I even wonder if it is intentional. Still I have to admit they won me over to being huge fan with there live performance. The other great thing is they play forever. Ween took a little to grow on me but now I inlove love them.
Chocolate and Cheese is an awesome song. It took awhile for Ween to grow on me too, but now I can see the genius.....
I think they make their albums sound bad to make them different from other albums in every way. I've played in some experimental metal bands, and those guys were all about havin' that "gritty" sound....
Push Th' Little Daisies can be annoying to some but I reckon it's a great song by them! Waving My Dick In The Wind is also good song...love that guitar solo!!! Their latest album seemed a little average though IMO...OK but nothing spectacular.
