Rancid sold out...terribly...I like their older material, but haw! On their new one they kind of contradict things they've said in the past about what real punk is and shit

I don't mean to sound like one of those whiney pussies who talk about how the used to be cool but aren't anymore, but in this case its true. Rancid used to sound great and have a true punk motivation, but now they sound like every other pop-punk band that either sold their ideals or never had any. You want good Rancid go Operation Ivy. (Man do I love old school Ska.)

Agreed.
Old Rancid is much better.
But I think if you're listening to a song or band just because it's "punk" and not becuase it's good, you'll always be dissapointed.
Rancid may not be hard core punk, but good music is good music.
