Question Just Curious Who Has Heard Of These Hip-Hop Artists...

I love a lot of Hip-Hop but very rarely anything in the mainstream outside of Outkast and a few others...

Two acts that I listened to in my younger days still get a lot of action on my CD player and I was wondering if anyone has heard of them...

First up, Basehead:

They released a few albums in the early 90's but their debut 'Play With Toys' was the only one worth getting. There isn't one bad track on the album imo and no album within Hip-Hop has ever been quite like it. Check it out if you can, I highly recommend it...

Next, Pharcyde:

'Labcabincalifornia' was there last release and it was pretty good but their debut album 'Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde' was a masterpiece. Tracks like 'Ya Mama' (Which detailed the inner city act of ragging on each others Mothers, which I participated in a lot as a kid ) and 'Oh Shit' highlight this album that really should have been bigger than it was.

Check these bands out if you get a chance...

I've heard of Pharcyde but I can't really remember what they sounded like...obviously not really good or bad. Sorry for such a lame reply...

No problem, if you heard stuff from their last album I can understand your reaction to them. If you get a chance to check out the above album by them you might think otherwise...or not.

Just having a listen to some of those songs...cool and old school!

It reminds me of Public Enemy and the likes. Pretty cool anyway.

Thanks.
