Tindersticks

hey

I'll be going to a Tindersticks show here in Brussels tonight.
I don't have all their albums, but certainluy Curtains is a masterpiece to me: those strings, the dark moody atmosphere, the lyrics... I think that there second one (Tindersticks [II]) is also very good. After Curtains they lost me for a bit, with their attempts to play soul music, was all rather boring I thought, but their latest Waiting For The Moon seems quite good again.
what do you think about them?

mmm difficult to say maybe Blackheart Procession, in their most chaotic moments maybe dEUS.
AMG says Nick Cave, Walkabouts, Lambchop, PJ Harvey (to bring you my love era then), Cousteau, Lee Hazlewood, The Divine Comedy, Jacques Brel,...
They write moody melancholic songs about problems with women... Their latest record begins with the lines "My hands round your throat/ If I kill you now...".
For a time they tried to go play their version of Motown soul (Simple Pleasure) but now their back to their alternative rock mixed with folk and blues elements. There's always been a key role for the violin in their music, on their albums there are always strings supporting them and yesterday on stage they had a wonderful violinplayer.
If you want to check them out, try Curtains

Honey, I can't really hear dEUS or Nick Cave in their music, but I must admit you're a bigger fan that I am...

I only heard the resemblance at their gig, it was the violin together with the rocking element, I guess

this is a very good band... more people should listen to them!

I recently bought me their second cd and it's certainly one of their best, up there with Curtains

In the end, what we have are these little, great moments. They come and they go. That's as good as it gets. But, still, isn't that great?

didn't know that they made videos... but I know they've got a greatest hits album Working for the Man...
anyway I've got only Tindersticks (II), Curtains, Waiting for the Moon and a copy of Simple Pleasures (which I didn't like that much...)
