Not Really Punk

Not really punk, and not really important, but has anybody heard Pavement? I love their sound. Sort of an intellectual/rock/sarcastic feel.

pavement seems to be one of the first band anyone finds out about as soon as they look to something other than mtv for music...

i'm not saying their bad or anything but they're nowhere near as obscure as most of the indie fankids would want you to believe...

I've actually been on the indie scene for years. But never looked in the direction of Pavement. Completely different than the hardcore punk I'm interested in mostly. But then variety is the spice of life or something like that.

Pavement have some pretty cool songs that haven't really seemed to age much over the years. Too bad they aren't around anymore I guess.

well i love pavement with a passion, i know its silly, but basically anything they ever made is good as far as im concerned. all that aside tho, this isnt the place to put pavement. this thread belongs in some kind of alt rock division of the sock section which one day the allmighty admin will create. until such a time, stick it in alt pop.

i have a pavement cd."crooked rain"it has that cool song"cut your hair".
how about bands like "angry somoans","naked raygun",and "mighty mighty bosstones"?
or "voodoo glow skulls"?

m.m.b & v.g.s sound kinda alike
a.s & n.r have similiar structure.
all come close to the punk genre but not excactly which is why i figured i'd point them out.
pavement also kind of reminds me of weezer, trashcan sinatra's,rentals and james.
cracker was sort of like james.attitude wise anyway,i thought.
