recording cd -> pc

i got a cd with "copy control" so i cant rip it...tried 10 different toc editors/rippers so the only way to get it to wav would be to line-in my cdplayer to the pc and through sound forge record it.

BUT i can hear the cd through my speaker but the meters in SF wont move...cant get the program to record it.

what could possibly be wrong?
cd -> line-in on PC = sound in speakers but no signal while recording

Sounds like one weird CD!
I understand why it can't be copied digitally, but why in the world is it not recording as audio. If I had to guess I'd say there's a strange phase inversion of some kind that cancels out the signal.
Have you tried recording just one channel, like just the right side?
I'm interested in how in the **** it's doing that.

very confused and intrigued Napoleon Wilson .

Ohh...I guess I should've read this before.

There are programs out there which can bypass the copy protection system allowing you to rip CD's.

My friend gave it to me a long time ago...I'll see if I can dig it up.
