favorite brand?
Hey!
What might your favorite brand be?
Personally, I prefer Pearl! They do drums, and nuttin' else. (Would say they're quite good at it)
I've got a pretty nice Export Select Elx, and I'm happy bout it!
Yamaha for example (which my favorite drummer of all, Carter Beauford, uses) does motorcycles, pianos, guitars, basses, and of course, drums and so on..
Anyway, Pearl's got such a nice sound and feeling.. and quite nice hardware as well.
Give me your vote!

Tama all the way.
I own a vintage Tama Superstar/Starclassic drumset, valued at 2000+, its amazingly good.
Mapex makes good drums too.
I was thinking about buying another drumset (Drum Workshop), because they sound amazing, but I decided to just to add on to my Tama set.

I agree here, i have a Tama imperial star and i love it. I`ve had the superstar, the Pearl DTX, Slingerland and Yamaha TR 1200. The only set i`ve had that i liked better than my imperial star was a Capelle Import Skinstrand but needed $$$ and had to downgrade.

I've been using Canwoods for the last couple of years and they've still got me drooling!!!!!!
I recently went to order a 16 x 16 floor tom, but since Fred Pepper, the man, myth, the legend isn't making Canwoods out of his small farm in Saskatchawan anymore, they're EXTREMELY custom...and expensive.
cheers,
Jason

Well,....I've got a 13 year old custom Gretch!!!!! Mahogony color...Cherrywood, 12 ply,...22' bass, 4 toms and a 18' floor tom...I've got a DW5000 dual-chain double bass drum pedal, Gibralter rack, and a wicked 13 year old Tama snare made out of Airplane steel. I also put the "Active-Snare System" thing on the bottom of my snare for extra loudness....Only Zildijan cymals will do....5A sticks for hip-hop and funk, and 5B for my death metal stuff.....
I've played about 600 shows in various hip-hop, funk, and death metal bands....Besides my beautiful and extremely expensive Gretch kit, I've really liked some of the nicer Yamaha kits, and I've also had fun on a Fibes....
I'm gonna one day get an electronic kit with the mesh heads... Those things are wicked! I went into a Guitar Center and I was doin' stuff on that (I think it was a Roland) kit that I didn't know I can do!! I love my Gretch kit...I got it from my Dad after my parents divorced....Lucky me....
