I'm on the far right....you can just barely make out the "Gretch" on the bass drum...

The new rolands with the mesh heads are awsome...brilliant

Going from a sweet sounding acoustic set to a Roland machine is like getting out of a '69 vette and sliding into a 2004 model...

but somehow,
cooler...

Only thing is, you kinda look like a dork onstage with an electronic kit. There's nothing more beautiful than a nice acoustic drum kit with some shiny cymbals!

HAHAHAAH!

It's funny cause it's true!!!!!!

I don't own an electronic kit! Just think they're fun to play in a music store....

Maybe i should have used the moped analogy?

I own a Rogers (POS), but I'd love to own Pearl or Ayotte in the future.
I haven't really owned enough or played on to many different sets to have an honest opinion.

What if you honestly think your Rogers kick ass???

I've always felt that any brand of drum is just a drum until it has a good head on it and is tuned well...both according to your style.

I was hanging out with a band this summer for a bit and their drummer has the new DW pre-tuned shells (excuse me if i don't know enough about them to elaborate...) and supposedly , they're supposed to be the bomb for new drums...well, he paid alot of money for them, and my Linko's in my basement ( was my first drumset!!!) sounded 10 x's better...and they're worth about $30 now...what a shame.

And since we were on the topic of Rolands electronic percussion wizzardry....

Do any of you own a Roland SPD-20? I'm in the market for one. It gets great reviews and the price is decent....

Preferably, I'd like to have something more programmable...

any ideas??

cheers

I use a Yamaha birch custom absolute... you pay a bit for the name, yes, but it's a solid kit.

Nice punch, controlled decay. Great for fusion
