i absolutely hate compilation albums because if I like a song I usually want more of that artist and not just a bunch of other names

yes but some compilations get you on track of new names,
I like the rough trade compilations for example

The problem of those albums is that you probably know all songs already. The good thing of albums from ust one artist is that it can contain good songs which are not commonly known.

Anyway it is clear that I am not the only one collecting full albums (of course not ).

As written in my first post I use special album collection software (AlbumPlayer). Are there more people that use specialised software. Or just organise it in WinAmp.

The only compilation CD's that I think are worth the money are ones that have a heap of songs by artists who are just starting off and haven't got any albums released yet.

yea i've got a cd like that e, five bucks for like 40 tracks, i live in NJ and it was all these punk bands that were just starting up. Doubt any of them got the right promotion to get heard except this cd.
