Well, for a MAC....
I think it's LOGIC (nowadays Logic Audio Platinum)
That's what I've been using for the past 10 years as my main AUDIO/MIDI software.
I don't mind Cubase at all, but I don't really use it for anything serious. Not a lot anyway.
Now Pro Tools..... hmmm...
I don't really like Pro Tools software. Most PROs (like myself) use Pro Tools hardware but use LOGIC as a front end. I've been doing it since "newbus days" (1992 or so).

Performer and Vision weren't bad either, but I'm not a big fan.

As for PCs.
That's a different world...
Definitely Cakewalk and Cubase.

Oh..
"Reason" (for both MAC and PC) - I like that a lot!

The Glass Tax
Logic is fantastic. I will never use anything else!!

Logic for the PC stopped at 5.5 and it's very very similar to the Mac version. However now that emagic are no longer releasing PC based Logic the temptation to buy a mac is very strong.

Yes, I like it THAT much!

Cool

You mean:
Cakewalk Fruity Loops Pro Recording Software.
That's PC world - I'm a MAC user.
The only PC I have is an IBM ThinkPad. I run Reason on it ,when I go on vacations.

For studio stuff it's MACs and LOGIC. Has been that way for me for ten yearsnow .
