The only jazz french horn player that I know of is Julius Watkins.
To answer the question at hand I would pick a tie between the saxophone and trumpet. You want emotion on the sax listen to Coltrane, Pres, Bean, Newk, etc...
If no one else played the trumpet Satchmo would be more than enough alone for emotion. But there are many others that followed like Miles, Fats, Dizzy, Freddie Hubbard, Lee Morgan, etc...
