great list Pan man...I like Permutation more than Bricolage, but they are both great...glad you mentioned BOC's Music album, it is one of my faves, but i just didn't want to seem to favor the electronic side of myself...a surprise on there for me is Fear Factory's "Demanufacture", which is a great album, but i wouldn't choose it

"swans - white light from the mouth of infinity" : Y'know, there was a time when I owned this album, but I wasn't ready for it so I gave it away. This was back in 1991. Wish I still had it, 'cause it's out-of-print. I'm trying to get "Great Annihilator" - have you heard it?

"christian death - only the theatre of pain" : Own it. Great stuff.

"Fields of the nephilim - Elizium" : I may have to get this one...

"Skinny Puppy - Too Dark Park" : Yes! One of the best albums from one of my two or three favorite groups. I personally prefer their earliest stuff, but this one's amazing. This is my 4th favorite by them.

"Negativland - Dispepsi" : Hilarious concept. Another one I may need to get.

I like your other groups too.

it is strange, Kakusei doesn't seem to have the energy like in Meiso. but I love the last song on Kakusei called Final Home vocal. I don't really like the band where the singer belongs to/or used to belong to, Ethero or something. but she did good in Final Home.

yes I have Great Annihilator, but I think White Light from the Mouth of Infinity is better. if you are into more experimental side of Swans, definitely get Soundtrack for the Blind.

interesting enough, I had the same problem with Too Dark Park, like your problem with White Light from the mouth of infinity. I guess it was just way too dark for me at the time. so I sold it and bought it back few years later.

if you like old school goth rock, you gotta get Elizium by Fields of the Nephilim. it is probably the best album they have done. and don't do LSD and listen to it at the same time. I did that once in college and had flashback in the next few years whenever I put that album on.

negativland would always have a place in my heart. "I got fired by my boss, pepsi. I nail jesus to the cross, pepsi!"

well, that's not very true. if you listen to Portishead's second album, the emotion is so high that you can feel the energy from it.
