Give me some good Composers who arent
dead yet! There is only one that I really enjoy (Chris Florio). All of the others just dont seem to do it for me.

Chris Florio
OMG, I thought I was one of the few who knew of Chris Florio. He belongs up with the likes of Beethoven and Bach. AMAZING! Have you seen him live? He gets a great live sound, and he's extremely active in all sorts of projects. You know he owns Passion Records! He started his own label too! Crazy good stuff.

Giya Kancheli is not dead. Atleast I don't think so. If I remember right he's nearing his 70ies now...

i guess you could call Harold Budd a contemporary composer, but he's more of a neo-classicist, or classical crossover like John Adams...

Is John Williams still alive? He's really good, he did alot of themes for movies and stuff. He even did the Legend of Zelda theme.

Dunno if he'd count, but you might want to check Yann Tiersen out...

Try some of Julio Cesar Oliva. He's a Mexican composer for guitar. His "Aparición" is really good, and not so rebelliously modernist. Unfortunately, I don´t have any links-- try his name in a search machine. Hey, could someone send a MIDI by this florio guy? I never heard of him.
