Leftfield - what have they been up to?

Yeah I know, they broke up in March 2002, but what have Neil Barnes and Paul Daley been up to since then? Supposedly they were going to pursue "solo projects", but as far as I know they haven't done anything. Yeah, Neil Barnes did a remix of "God Save the Queen", but that's not original product so it doesn't count.

They only released two full length albums in 12 years as Leftfield, so I guess these guys work reeaaallllyy slllloowwwlly. Amazing albums, though. Leftism (1995) is a classic and, though not as critically acclaimed, I think Rhythm and Stealth (1999) is about as good. I really got off on all the international influences in their music.

Does anybody else miss these guys?

the accent of icelandic words falls in almost all cases on the first syllable. the exceptions are

1.words that have the negative prefix "ó-" meaning "un-" as in "unwilling" eg óhreinindi
2.words that have the prefix "all-" meaning "rather" or "very" eg allfeginn

in these two cases, the accent falls equally on the first two syllables or mainly on the second syllable.

Hey bOrA, good to see that I'm not the only one that misses these guys.

Equinox, Leftfield falls under the category of "progressive house", so if you're open to that kind of music, there's no doubt in my mind that you'll love them. Even if you don't dig on house music, Leftield is pretty special and definitely worth checking out. I'd recommend "Leftism" first, as that's universally cherished. To quote All Music Guide, "Far from being just a stale progressive house LP, it spans a wide range of influences (tribal, dub, trance) and includes a good mixture of vocal tracks (with Toni Halliday*, John Lydon** and Earl Sixteen***) and instrumental workouts."

* Curve / ** Sex Pistols & PiL / *** a roots reggae artist

That album is extremely good on high volumes. I bought it very late (half year ago) after hearing it at a party. I would say it`s varied techno, though. It`s a real stereo pleaser than anything else.

Leftism was great but I haven't listened to it for ages as I overplayed it.

I was a bit disappointed with Rhythm and Stealth, but how could you follow leftism? I also liked their early more techno-y eps!
