Country music?

Would country music be a subdivision of Pop music, in any of your opinions, all of you out there? Or is it more folk-esque?

I personally think current country music sounds like pop with instrumentation and vocal styles typical of older country music.

Eh, regardless...

depends on if you mean county or country-western. aparenlty there is a difference. I think western is more folksy.

Well, I didn't have country western in mind. I was thinking of the mainstream "country" music like...hmm...Brooks and Dunn, Rascal Flatts, Montgomery Gentry, Keith Urban, Martina McBride, Toby Keith, etc.

Sorry, I've been completely oblivious to country music, and now out of boredom I've been watching a lot of CMT.

I see it more of a sub-division of rock.

I see it as the foundation of Rock along with the Blues. Both were combined to create Rock as we know it imo.
