Well... in a way, any music that's "popular" is Pop Music, right?

well, it used to be, but the meaning of pop music has changed, not? Metallica is popular, but it isn't pop music, right?

a lot of style names change

Put Rythm&Blues/R'n'B anno 1960 against it's 2003 version, quite a difference wouldn't you say?

ihate pure country music, with a few exception [johnnycash and others icant think of at the moment]. ido, however, love country music influences in rock and alternative. the greatest examples of this are richard ashcroft and ryan adams. both of richard ashcroft's solo albums hav strong country influences in them, and they are both great records. ryan adams solo debut, 'heartbreaker' is the pinnacle of alt-country. his releases this year, 'rock n roll' and 'love is hell pt1' [pt.2 out dec.9] are some of the very best this year has had to offer- and its been a great year in music. ryan adams is the king of 2003.
