Right...

This might explain it all.

i'm not going to bother quoting other stuff i'm going to reply to aside from this one... i'd say this behavior goes beyong being a fan and borders on obsession...

in terms of the rap thing... you did say dangerous featured some of the first rap the world had heard and i quoted you... maybe you meant to say something different but i'll never listen to enough dionne warwick to be part of the psychic friends network...

in terms of slipknot... if you don't like them fine... don't start crap in the metal forum with the people that do... especially if all you have to say is 'they suck and they're retards'... same with the bowie thread... unless you've got something valid to add to the discussion i'd rather not read it...

and in terms of the butthead philosophy... you mention that you were born around the time dangerous came out so that makes you somewhere around 12 years old... so i won't expect you to get all the pop culture references that might show up in various posts... but the statement is a valid one... it's a simplified modern take on eastern philosophy... rather than talking about the tao and the great ultimate and i-ching and the 5 agents in the school of chinese thought it's easier to just talk about stuff that sucks and stuff that's cool...

and butthead is the one on the left... if i remember right he says that quote near the end of the primus song on this cd...

I really do not understand what you mean? What does "tao" mean? The great ultimate?? What? "5 agents in the school of chinese thought" you've lost me there? I really have absolutely no clue whatsover on the planet earth what you mean. You've completely lost me!! lol!

As for the thing in the slipknot forum, I really do not like gothic heavy metal bands, it drives me mad, look at the title of that topic! I was agreeing with it, not trying to cause havoc. Some people put things just as negative, if not more negative than that post of mine.

i'm really not qualified to explain ancient chinese philosophy... it was basically a way of explaing life and the universe... everything that exists was goverened by a single principle - the tao (or great ultimate)... the tao was split into to opposite principles the yin and the yang (light / dark - man / woman - etc)... in order to have anything you required elements of both... you need the good AND the bad to be able to appreciate the now... neither side dominates eternally therefore the universe remains balanced... or something...

i'm going to simplify things so that they relate in terms of MJ... the loss of his childhood is a significant even in his life... he sees it as a bad thing... something he wants to reclaim (you've said so yourself...) in order to keep some balance he was also awarded success beyond anyone's wildest dreams... so you have the good and the bad keeping the universe balanced... but he doesn't seem to see it like that he's focusing on his past and it's unbalancing his present self and destroying his future self...

did that make any sense? too much relative philosophical thinking hurts my head sometimes...

Not that anyone but you will believe me.. I say it because, I don't do the things typically associated with "fan" like attend concerts, collect memorabilia, stand in line for a chance to see him and/or get an autograph, collect all his music, videos, etc. I will watch him if he's on TV because I enjoy the performance - always have, probably always will.

panbient - yes it makes sense. Very interesting. Hadn't quite looked at it that way before. Pretty much gave it, his business - so what status. Hmm..

see this is what I was talking about. Being a fan of a musican does not mean you're his friend. I love Pink Floyd's music. If some one says they don't like Pink Floyd I do not take it as a personal insult. I think being a fan means you think that the music is great or whatever. But you don't think you have some personal connection with the artisit just because you like the music.

Most people I know who are big fans of a musician do not act like this. It sounds like you are not so much a fan of MJ's music but a fan of MJ the man. and with out even actually knowing the guy.

Its hard to explain when you're an MJ fan. Every single other MJ fan I know feels exactly the same. And I'm giving you the honest truth.

But did you need to say that it sucked? Especially when you don't even listen to it? You obviously know nothing about Slipknot because you labled it "Gothic Heavy Metal". You see that's the difference between your comments in that thread and our comments in this one...we have heard MJ's music and we know his history. We haven't just been saying this stuff out of the blue and with our eyes shut.

This is even more contradiction from you.
