What behaviour?
Describe his behaviour, it's prpbably the behaviour that the media have said Michael so-called has.

his behavior as in being an adult who would rather befriend children... nothing wrong with being nice to children or anything but you need common mental ground to form a platonic relationship...

then there's the way he chose to spend his money... i'll admit a lot of stars waste cash on frivolous things but a theme park in your backyard takes the cake... i wonder what the yearly upkeep for neverland is?

granted he WAS the king of pop (back in the 80s)... i don't think he should have been the one to title himself accordingly...

and i can understand why one wouldn't want to expose themselves to the media but it's a necessary evil when you're a pop star... and his self-imposed seclusion from it only made him seem crazier (not unlike marlon brando)...

but i'd say the main behavioral issue is his continuing focus on trying to reclaim and relive his childhood... it's crippling him as an adult and the longer it goes on the worse he seems...

maybe and maybe not. I think cases involving stars get way out of control. Who knows what the judge would and wouldn't agree to - we'll never know. As sensational as that would've been - the threat that they'd be shown in open court was very real. Obviously he made his choice. Maybe it wasn't the smartest one but he's a simply a human and he makes mistakes - it was against what he was advised. He can't go back now. I'll agree the charges are so terrible that it's frightening to think maybe he is one and is on the loose with people's kids. THAT is the problem. People are afraid that maybe just maybe he actually is one. I think if he was he has about millions of reasons that people would break their silence. He's a powerful man, but not that powerful. And so MANY kids have been to Neverland - it's against type for molesters to break the habit - it would so unlikely that no one else would accuse him that I just don't believe he is one.

I don't know if he's washed up. Only time will tell.

what about Britney who likes to send her assistant on her private jet to get her favorite coffee? That's pretty up there also. Wonder what that runs a cup?

I can see where it's hard to relate to Michael's love for childish things. I think it's more that he can fit in as a person with young children. They like or they don't - it's irrelevant to them if he's made 0 or 100 great songs. He doesn't have to perform for them unless he wants to, he doesn't have to wonder if they are his friends because he's some super star, or because they are after his millions of dollars. And for the jaded rest of the world - it's difficult to understand.

He is friends with children because they don't judge people they just socialise and get on even if they don't know each other. Adults immedaitely judge one another as soon as they meet...
Michael is friends with a lot of women because they like to know about problems not just sticking with one opinion forever.

I am a male, and I have only ever had one opinion of Michael and that is he is a legend.

i'd say the britney assistant thing is about par for the course for most pop stars... unless the assistant is being flown to columbia to get a handful of beans...

and i see your point on acceptance... but i'm willing to bet that if he tried acting like a normal adult a little more people would treat him a little more normally... he's the one that proclaimed himself king of pop in 91... he's the one that distanced himself from normal adult life and kept himself up on his ivory pedastol...

i think his fear of misreprensentation and his subsequent denial of interviews hurt him a lot... sure 'normal' people don't want to deal with the media directly... but a normal person doesn't record an album that sells 25 million copies and has 7 of its 9 songs hit the top 10...

like i said earlier... his behavior is his downfall... he did it to himself...

I want you to understand that I'm not trying to be difficult with you. Just exchanging views..

The Britney coffee thing.. she has it flown to her from her favorite coffee shop (I believe in Cal) to where ever she happens to be. That's lovely for her but it's pretty damned self-indulgent. At least Michael shares Neverland with sick kids instead of just doing something for him. Not to say he never is completely self-indulgent. It's sorta par for the course.

I don't think he trusts adults and quite frankly I can see why. People suck sometimes, even when you're not a mega star.

And BTW - it wasn't him who proclaimed himself as the king of pop. Here's the poop on that (cut and pasted - not my words but I agree with them):

Michael Jackson has never been heard to utter the words, "I am the King of Pop. Everyone, call me King of Pop."

This "title" was bestowed by various people on various awards shows, and guess what? The title stuck. Elizabeth Taylor was the first to call him the King of Pop. That's a fact. Need a bigger memory jog? Try the 7th Annual Soul Train Music Awards in 1993, where he sang Remember The Time while in a wheelchair (one of my favourite performances!) - in her introduction, Patti LaBelle enthusiastically said, "You know him better as the King of Pop, Rock and Soul ... Michael!!!"

Constant usage of it in the media has helped considerably, too. Of course, some publications refer to him as "Prince of Pop" while others say "King of Pop", and more currently, "King of Entertainment". Gee, can't they make up their minds?? It is a big responsibility to have to keep the public informed, after all. Accurate details would be nice at times.

Bearing this in mind, when you read about Michael Jackson "the self-proclaimed" King of Pop, remember that HE wasn't the one who crowned himself as royalty in the music world. It was the folks in the media industry.

So, since the media has so kindly implanted these "titles" in the public mind, it's no wonder that just about everybody is referring to Michael as royalty. What other performer has a career that spans three decades and has consistently been in the music charts for that same period of time? He deserves the title, even if people in general find it pretentious. I guess you have to be a fan to understand and appreciate some of the things he does.

not a big fan of the man himself or his music. I liked thriller, the video more than the song, but that is about it. Don't know why people still talk about him that much. He is a pop star who has fallen off his pedestal like all pop stars do...
