To sum it all up:

I've been told emo songs are deep
Which translates into REALLY WEAK!
All they ever do is cry
Did something get caught in their eyes?
I just can't understand it all, even I don't always ball
Boo-hoo-hoo... My girlfriend dumped me... whimper
snivel... and I'm really hurt...

mmm blunt...i mean cough what'd i say? anyways the reason why emo is in the punk section is because it's closer to punk than any other label on the forum so just quit ur whining, mr. i don't like emo. anyways emo is a great genre but some bands take it to a shitty concept. it seems that every emo band that gets any recognition turns into pop punk shit, and it is annoying. i may love the genre but...damn there are just too many sell outs.

There's no real way to stop it, i've been into the genre for years but its really just recently that it happened with Yellowcard being signed to a major label, the vagrant explosion. I don't really have a problem if i still enjoy the music but I give everything a chance and it does get really watered down with pop gimics eventually, i.e. saves the day's first album can't slow down compared to in revire, i can't think of a better example.

true true. although i've seen bands go the other way too, they go from really shitty to decently good.

well recess theory was the band chris originally started long long ago in a galaxy far far away. and then he joined further seems forever. which is a damn good band, chris then left to go on to his dashboard project. but fsf continued on with a new singer, still a damn good band too. check them out.
