Oh. Ok, I used to live in the suburbs, and no one there seemed to quite fit the discription of what I'd call emo. But maybe I've been shittily misinformed.

Emo, Linkin Park, and Korn have absolutely nothing in common...

...Except that I don't like any of them much

sure they do-they are catchy poppy in a sense bands that apply to kids that want to be a little different, wear a cool t-shirt but dont have the sense/balls/taste to go even harder or listen to something older. Im not going to say i wasnt a korn kid when i was a whee lad, but thats the bad that got me into metallica which got me into pantera and slayer and so on. but emo... ive said before its just kids that arent dedicated enough to be punk and if they werent in a band youd probly wanna punch em in the face if they wined as much in person as they do on their albums, emo kids are the kids that go to your high school that are big of pussy's to be cool, but they are too cool (musically talented/funny) to be pussies so they found their music good for them, i just dont want any part of this fad---its just like the whole "HIM" bam margera fad that will fade out completely in 2 years just like tom green.

i asked this before but i was still curious because nobody posted a responce so here it goes. yea but if you look at it bands like cradle of filth and converge which are both heavy in their own respects have really poetic lyrics even if they scream. so does poetry make the music emo or is it the tone of the song.

I said that, you cant base a genre purely on the themes dealt with.

Let me restate this because it was obviously misunderstood:

Musically, Emo, Linkin Park, and Korn have absolutely nothing in common.
