They're really good and they're pretty cheap for a HD MP3 player too. I really wouldn't mind getting one either!

I just got my iPod!

This is my first impression: the hardware rules, the software stinks.

There's no on/off button. You ust tell it what to do and it goes off on its own. Mine is a 20GB, so it holds all my music and the quality is crystal clear. Its also smaller than I thought.

But the music match software is really hard to use and dodgy-looking.

More when I use it a bit more ...

I took it into town and found that it didn't jump at all (you wouldn't expect it to). The carry case is preet good and the pod itself is almost silent. However, the headphones are pants. For a start they're bright white, so you look like a goon if you're wearing a black coat (like I was hehe). Plus the lead if far too long. I had to wrap it up with those wire twisty things you get with it in the packaging.

The musicmatch software is really ugly and the menus are dated-looking. The way it rounds up file sizes too is dodgy. Another complaint is because it only has one wire you can't charge and link it up to the pc at the same time unlees you have a mac.

On the plus side, everything that comes with it is super-stylish with a white-silver colour scheme. And the downloads are fast. And I mean fast. Click your fingers, thats how long it takes to transfer 1 MB.

This thing about not having an on or off button is weird, but pretty cool if you think about it. And the backlight is really bright. It even has games, calender, clock etc. like a mobile phone!

How big, exactly, is the iPod?
How much was yours/where'd you get it?

I was gonna get one off of eBay a while back, but I've lost trust in all of the sellers. I looked up that FP iRiver one too, and I'm thinking about getting it, though, it only holds 128mbs, that's a BIG difference than what the iPod can hold. And the iRiver one IS about 200.00 dollars.

Does having a thousand songs make it hard to find a specific song?
