I'll bet not every band in the world tours there.

Kan du forstår Dansk?

I've tried reading Icelandic, it looks like old Viking to me.
When do you plan to come to Ã?sland?

Bands do tour here. It´s not as backward as you think.

Jeg kan kun tale en lille smule Dansk.

It´s alot similar to Old Norse, the language of the Vikings. It was brought to sland from Norway in the 9th century. The other Scandinavian languages were influenced more by other countries.

Didn't mean it was backward, just a long way to go for 275,000 people. Don't know if many bands can afford it.

I'll go there some year when/if my business takes off. I'm getting married soon, then after a few Euro holidays, I'll go there in the summer of course.

Don't think I'll understand the native tongue, since I couldn't understand some drunk Norwegians I met in Denmark.

Did hold a semblance of a conversation with a Swede on a plane once, she speaking swedish, I danish.

I'd love to hear Icelandic spoken in person though.

what did bjørk move? (like my danish keyboard? åå ææ)

I know you have a lot of bands, care to recomend any?

I'd love to play some on my station.

Is there a unique Icelandic folk style, or is it similar to other styles?

The folk style is a little similar to other Scandinavian Folk music.

I can´t find hardly any mp3s of the Folk music I like, so I included some non-folk too. I assume they are less popular than I thought.

Could you play ´Óðin´s Raven Magic -Chapter 3´ on on your station?

Sigur Rós and Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson

Thanks for the links!

I should clarify.

One,

My station isn't very ambient focused. Neither am I

Two

Sigur Ross gets a lot of promotion over here anyway. Some very unethical radio stations play them, and they had a special on HBO, our big cable network, and I try to give play to artists that don't get mainstream exposure. Their label may even be paying off stations for airplay, and my station is very much against that.

The classical was interesting, but my station is a bit more folk rock and ethnic electronic.

PDSA downloads at 1.5 k a second with broadband. They must use a terribly slow server, if not a computer at their home.

Let me know the names of the folk stuff you like though.

I had no idea Sigur Rós gets so much promotion. They really deserve it though! You Don´t like Steindór Andersen´s Rímur?

I think you might like Njáll Sigurðsson and Bárá Grimsdottír.

I could only get one sample to download, and it was very short just three notes cirlcling each other.

I'm more into music that's very challenging performance wise.
