The Disintegration Loops 1 was great too btw. I had about an hour of driving solitude the other day, and got into the Basinski trance... but didn't crash

I'll get the rest of those too when I'm rich...

as we have talked about Basinski in the past, I agree with you. I have Watermusic I and II, A red score in Tile 12", Disintegration Loops I, II, III, IV, Melancholia, and a couple other ones that I cannot think of at this moment

, the first time I listened to this one, I immediately thought of Aphex Twin. It's on Hymen, right? A label I absolutely adore.

it's on worm interface - if i remember correctly?! solar x was very aphex'ish but not too full on in yer face drill beats. kinda quite liked his more mellow style for that time. he's russian i think... wonder what he's doing now?

oh yes, you're right. I think he's released a 7 or 12" on there though. Yeah, I have all the vsnares hymen releases and guess what, he's got 3 on planet mu, one on coredump and a possibly rumoured album on rephlex later this year

Time to add to this list:

The Flashbulb- Red Extensions of Me

To give a short synopsis of this album would probably disgrace it's creator, although I'm lazy and don't have the time, it's going to have to work. I think I've finally found someone that competes with the likes of Squarepusher in programming. This is one of the most unique releases I've heard so far in 2004 and will go on a lot of unheard ears for years to come (unless this guy starts putting out 4 releases a year like Venetian Snares). It grabs from a lot of different styles acoustic/electronic alike and exonerates them well.

Ok, enough chit chat, time to go. Good stuff.

I know the pair of Michael Fakesh and Chris De Luca are quite well known in the world of IDM, yet I feel this release didn't get the exposure it should've (But what IDM album did in 2000, other than something on the Warp label). Most people call these guys the German Autechre, yet I do see the similarities, but they feel they bring more of a hip hop influence and less experimental part to the scene. This being they're only proper full length album of original material, it saddens me to think this will be the only one, yet in history, this may stand out because of this factor. Highly recommendable!

maybe they are underrated in the us but in europe espacially in germany they are quite famous. you should check out CHRIS DE LUCAS solo collaboration with PIEBIRD called "DEADLY WIZ DA DISKO" from 2002. in my opinion this one is a really underrated album. remember last year this hip hop vs electronic fusion started to be trendy ... but chris de luca and piebird did it one year before all the others.
