I have some songs from speedy j on a novamute compilation, but they are okay.

komet is doing something along the line of alva noto, I like that check that out. I have heard some of the materials from komet way back in the late 90's but I didn't like it that much. I guess it was just me being slow as usual.

see, this is exactly what I'm saying about Speedy J. The material you heard on the novamute compilation was probably less beat oriented or abstract as the material on "A shocking hobby". And with Komet, it takes time to like certain types of music and you may have even heard something 5 yrs ago that didn't appeal to you then, but may appeal to you now. It happens like that.

A Shocking Hobby is Speedy J's absolute zenith, it was marvellous.

He then followed it with Loudboxer which as just shite.

I agree, actually. "Public Energy no. 1 and A Shocking Hobby" were powerful and then he went back to the original sound he used.

Confield is underrated. my reasoning is because many label it to be too challenging. yes, i understand that people are affected differently by music, but i am surprised to hear such things about this album. it seems (to me) to be their best blend of musicality. there are clear structures and very inspiring textures. notably Cfern, PEN EXPERS, and Parhelic Triangle. this was my first IDM album i had ever heard. immediately i was drawn into this music.

can I be controversial?

I think Ladytron's Light & Magic is good, and under-rated.

Wait, that isn't controversial at all!

Hi people

noticed someone mentioned my album 'meshape' - thanks! although it's sold out in physical for you can get it from my site as mp3. I've just launched an independant mp3 shop for my back catalogue and online label (freefarm). I release music as Freeform (Skam, Warp etc). You get a free exclusive e.p. with your first order..

thanks for listening!

Simon Pyke? are you serious man?

1. I appreciate the stop by (if it's actually you, knowing that Human is another one of your releases)
2. I'm gonna treat you like everyone else, if you promote, it's going straight to the promotion forum

first of all, how am I suppose to know? and second of all, it's fine, most people don't read the sticky at the top of the forum anyway. You're an established artist, why should you have to promote, eh?
