I presume that you mean Phil Western (now Phillip for some reason). :P Yeah, I have Dark Features around here somewhere which I enjoyed when I first got but have not listened to in ages. Also I just recently picked up "World's End", the second disc of which is some really cool ambient stuff. Apparently Phil(lip) Western has a new project coming out called "Frozen Rabbit" of dark ambient stuff, could be good.
I assume you've also checked out the Plateau releases? The second disc "Spacecake" almost touches on the same plane as download's "III", but not quite as dynamic (nor as energetic really). Still a good listen though.

yeah, i got him and Tim Hill mixed up, sorry
is that Frozen Rabbit release called '26,000'? If so, i've heard it and like it a lot. I didn't realize it was him though.
Yeah, I've listened to all the Plateau albums as well.

Yeah, 26,000. I think it's supposed to mean something like 26,000 Feet (as in altitude) or something.

Saule - Untitled
The finest experimental turntable release I have heard. I've had this for a very long time, and i'm wondering why i'm just now bringing it up...
I love Philip Jeck, Otomo Yoshihide and Janek Schaefer, but this release just does it for me.

not the conventional use of an instrument. Taking loops from vinyls and looping them over and over...perhaps you might want to call it Sound Art. Who knows...
"This is the first full-length album of Saule aka Xavier Garcia Bardon. It contains three tracks/soundscapes of sentimental, lyrical, yet experimental turntablism: romantic loops, introspective rhythms, feedback and vinyl cracks. It's violence and love! All tracks were made using three record players and a few prepared records. Saule has played with Kim Cascone, Janek Schaefer, Leo Kupper and Tony Conrad in 2002."

Air Liquide - Red
Well, I've never come across anyone else who has listened to this or anything by Air Liquide nor have I came across a publication which talks about it...so it's pretty under-rated. Lovely piece of work though everytime I pass by it in my collection I give it a listen... If I'm driving at night it makes a good play. Acid at it's finest.

I have the album and have had it for a good length of time. I agree...is underrated. Not fond of their other material though.
