Only flipped through this thread (wow, 14 pages?) but I've always thought that download's "III" is fucking amazing and was heavily overlooked at the time of it's release. I think a lot of ppl dismissed it as house or just simplistic when they compared it to the abrasive and experimental first 2 full length albums. While it does at times follow a simple dance beat the analogue sounds are just beautiful and often brilliant. Never mind the gorgeous cover art:

I think I would like to submit Gridlock's "Trace" as well. A lot of ppl dig it, and quite a few people seem to be into Gridlock, but not nearly as much as I would expect. Trace IMO is their finest work, from stunning ambient to splatterbeat industrial mayhem. One of my fav. all time albums at any rate.

well, if you read through a lot of the threads of the past, you'll see that 'Trace' has been mentioned more than it's fair share of times, and I agree, it is their finest work. They started going into a deeper mold with 'Further', came almost a creative climax with 'Formless', but with 'Trace (in between), they basically showed a style that it seems everyone nowadays is trying to mimic.

another great release. I have everything that's been put out by the Skinny Puppy crew from Download and love it all. I've also picked up a few of the cd's that Tim Western put out as solo and with Tim Hill. You should definitely check them out.

Yes, I was agreeing with your comparison, as well as making fun of my posting in the Electronic forum. I know how excited you get, when that happens.

The Secretary of State and Satchmo will of course, disavow all knowledge of that post.

of course. I suppose you feel the same way when I make a decent post in the jazz forum, yo.
NOTE: I may add, that I used the word 'yo' in lowercase so I wouldn't be in any copyrighted wrongdoing of Satchmo.
