I dont think I would go as far as to classify Linkin Park as a "Boy Band"
Boy bands consist of teenage boys who cannot play their own instruments or write their own songs. They usually dance around (choreographed) to pre-recorded music. Most of them are pre-fabricated by the music industry. Linkin Park is not a boy band. Sure they may be "pretty boys" but they can at least play and write their own shit.

i watched a chart show the other day with a friend and there were no boy bands on it, but a bunch of single "artists" and some hip-hop/rap crap.
my ears started bleeding.
i do like westlife, though. give me westlife.

I also wish they would die off but I don't think they ever will unfortunately. 
By the way, not all rap and hip-hop is bad...just the commercial crap is!

It makes me laugh when boy band members make solo cd's. Somehow I'm sure they've got this impression they've made the jump to a legitimate artist.
