Ok, before i get totally ripped here, i would like to explain. Im a die hard music fan in general, but im more into metal and hard rock!! Yet, i have comprised a list of my top 10 bands/artist and theres something kinda weird

Eminem Landed at 6 !!! WHOOOOOAAAAAAA

Heres the thing, i hate rap, so im not gonna put him down like that. I Hate the way he acts in public, but god! i love his music!!

He has made more waves in the music industry that the doors, smashing pumpkins and radiohead(tight, but i think so)! Lyrically he is superb, and he is made even better by the fact that he has a beat to rap to!! (increadibly difficult i must admit) He sings about alot of shit(wich always turn out to be his hits) yet, he has a deeper, more artistic side to him, wich one seldome sees other than "The Way I Am"

Out of the 300 Albums i Own I Have

All adding up to about 250 metal bands

Then i Have About 46 Albums with bands like

Yet

I own all 3 Eminem Albums (The Only Rap in my Collection)

So i think i know a fair amout about music (i listen to music about 6 hours a day) (when i eat, study for exams, when i play computer, or playing guitar to the tabs)

What this all boils down to is

I think Eminem is More than Rap, maybe a new genre, but i like to put him into the rock catagory!!!!

I don't think he is rock. Firstly all his songs are electronically produced and secondly, he raps!

I wouldn't call it rock. Even calling it music is a bit generous.

Thats a bit harsh dont you think? Have you ever listened to a LP from start 2 finish? Ive played his stuph to the biggest Death Metal fans, and they all agreed that he HAS talent. Im not one of those people who would write down a whole genre of music as crap. I think he is a genuis when it comes to songwriting. Im not saying that he is a Rock band, im mearly saying he should be listened to and that most knowledgable Rock-Fans, should at least appreciate what he does

I am into punk and metal and not into rap (or NU rap metal crap) but I don't mind him, I don't own any of his albums but I quite like the songs of his that I have heard, which is strange cause I generally don't like rap.

I am sorry, I just can't agree with you on that one.

I'm never a fan of his. But I do agree that he does have some meaningful lyrics in his songs. ( He's at least better than Nelly, me think)

However, like Evilmatik, I can't agree with you on this neither:

when you're putting down eminem, nothing is too harsh. i don't even feel like typing up my big long rap bash...let's just say that he sucks and is only in it for the money, as every new rapper is.
