Actually one of my friends used smoke a few cones before his exams and tests because he thought he performed better under the influence! It all started one day because he smoked before a science test that he had no idea about and ended up getting a really good mark!

Hey Q, got any other cool Aussie lingo I could throw around over here in the states to be different. And then people would say"what?", and I could say " oh, that's just what they call it in Australia." To look all worldy and stuff......

Yeah...I've got a few but I don't really realise them (just like the cones one). Actually I showed Bahar a pretty cool site about Australian slang...it's pretty funny!

http://www.koalanet.com.au/australian-slang.html

There's plenty more but there's quite a few there. Enjoy!

this is funny. i use:
Bored shitless : very bored
Brisvegas : Brisbane, state capital of Queensland
Cark it : to die, cease functioning
Chuck a sickie : take the day off sick from work when you're perfectly healthy
Crack onto (someone) : to hit on someone, pursue someone romantically
Dero : tramp, hobo, homeless person (from "derelict")

now come on, who DOESN'T use these words?!

Heh! I've used those words here sometimes and people didn't know what I was talking about so obviously quite a few people don't know them!

Exclamation Drugs and alcohol in the rock industry.

Do drugs and alcohol go hand in hand with the rock lifestyle?

It was exactly two years ago that James Hetfield entered rehab for alcoholism. On tour Metallica were known for heavy drinking and were nicknamed Alcohollica. Does alcohol have a positive or negative effect on a band?

Kurt Cobain was in and out of rehab for his heroin addiction. Did this have an effect on Nirvana's music or could it have led to his death?

And what about the Straightedge movement in rock and punk that discard all substances, be it drugs, alcohol or even cigarettes. Opinions please people.

I don't think Kurts heroin taking had an effect on his music at all really....And fame and pressure elsewhere led to his death, heroin he mainly just took to ease the pain of his stomach problems, tho I'm sure it probably played some part as it isn't exactly a good thing being a heroin addict.
