No offence or anything but just by looking at her I know I won't like her music. I'm not really into pop...especially with chicks with their tops open showing themselves off pop!
Like I said before though, what type of music do you like and maybe I can suggest something. Please mention bands I would have heard of though otherwise I won't know what you are talking about!

You can't judge the music by what the person wears. I put the pic mostly just for a joke. I quessed that at least someone would say something like you say.
Anyway Alexia is very talented singer and song writes and she has a very beautiful voice. For example on the Alexia's new album is a cover of Aretha Franklin's "I never loved a man (the way I love you)" Aretha Franklin's "I never loved a man (the way I love you)" and it's not any pop version, but very much like the original version.
Just listen the examples and tell then your opinion. Don't build up prejudice! You may get suprised. I mean it doesn't show good taste to have prejudice even before hearing anything.
You can say any band you like. I have open mind for new music. I mean I won't judge before I've listened. So tell freely anything that you think that is good.

I know it's wrong to judge bands/artists by their looks but I KNOW that I won't like her just by looking at her. Seriously the only people who look like that are crappy pop singers and even if she's in a rock band, chick rock doesn't do it for me either...especially when the girls actually sing!
Also if you say she has a beautiful voice I don't really want to hear it because it will be some sappy crap where she sings out loud. I hate that type of music!
And I'm not going to download her music either because I'm on dial up!

(e): Crappy pop singers? I see that you aren't as open for different kind of music as you try to say that you are. By the way Alexia's music lot of different kind of styles and probably it can be said that if Aretha Franklin isn't normal pop? What's wrong with pop anyway?
Oh well I like more about female singer than male singers, because it's boring to listen some crappy male complaining how terrible life is Lol! Just joking... Everything depends on the music and the singer, not about the music style or if the singer is female or male.
By the way don't judge any music, which you haven't even heard. I mean you say that something which you haven't even heard is crap. Better not to say opinion about music which you haven't heard. Music should be listened. Right?
Elfwood: Nice that you like. I think that good singers how they need to sing certain type of songs. I mean strong or not so strong.

I know I shouldn't judge a book by it's cover but that's what happens...
By the way, I don't mind pop...I just don't like overly commercial music which most pop is.

What is commercial music? What makes most of pop music be commercial? I think that there's also commercial rock, r&b, rap etc, if we wanna think that some kind of music is commercial.
How can you know, if for example Alexia's music is commercial in your opinion, if you haven't even heard it? If the artist looks good or uses some kind of clothes on the stage, it doesn't mean that he/she couldn't make good non commercial music, sing well etc. I think that music (or exactly artist/band) is commercial, if the artist does every kind of stupidies and tries to get to magazines even with the things that has nothing to do with music - for example telling about private life. Of course if you wanna sell music, then you sometimes have to be in magazines etc, but for me counts the talking about the music and things that have something to do with music.
I'll use Alexia as an example again, because she was the original subject of this topic. But so Alexia tries everyway to stay away from magazines with the stories of things that has nothing to do with music. For example she doesn't want to talk about her private life, but she wants to talk about the music.

I know...and as I said before I don't like commercial music, whether it's pop, r'n'b or rock.

All I said was that I didn't like commercial music, not that Alexia was commercial and I didn't like her (she probably is though).

Leave the last four words away from your sentence before you've never even heard the music of certain artist/band. Anyway generally I think that no music is commercial, if the artist honestly likes what he/she doing. Of course who would say that "I'm doing this kind of music only, because it sells well"?
So in the end the choice depends on the listener (person who have listened the music with open mind). For example I could say same kind of opinion as Homeless Cop said, but changing the places of Sade and Alexia.
My opinion is not to judge before listening!
