selfish response and plug for hellbent

brainsaw - I just released an EP and I would consider what we do to be "industrial" link : www.plainskinnygod.com

Also.. I highly recommend Hellbent or anything off of Invisible records for that matter (label they are currently on). There are a ton of really talented "industrial" musicians and some electro ones as well. for example : TRS80, Dead Voices on Air, Meg Lee Chin are on Invisible.

Other bands I like would be 16volt, Chemlab, Bile.. all of these bands either have albums pending or have been putting stuff out during the last 6 yrs which I would consider a real "dead" time for industrial.

I think one of the main reasons you don't see as many releases is that alot of the people that were programming that kind of music either went more rock (more guitar) or went into doing more dj type based stuff ...

Getting back to Hellbent.. Hellbent is an awesome collection of some "who's who" of indie Industrial artists.. I first heard them like in 95 or 96.. which is when 3 murders, 3 nites first came out

hope that helps!

To the Batrave

As said before, the catalog of Nuit et Brouillard is a good reference. Except if you're into this american industrial-rock stuff.

Ian - rite on.. Actually I've come across links on searchs for dsbp.cx , but haven't spent any $ yet on any cds on their collection.

I've heard a couple things from tarmvred,
and icon of coil.

Actually (looking at dsbp again).. New Penal Colony would be real interesting to hear for me personally.

I guess I do fall into that American industrial-rock blast that the last poster mentions. I grew up on fivth colvmn, reconstriction, ras dva type stuff. But I like alot of synth based music as well.

Have you heard the band Krushed Opiates? it says on their description that they are kind of like chemlab.

Anyways.. thanx for the linx

chemlab, I used to have that East Side Militia album. but I sold it, just not my cup of industrial tea.

but I have that compilation from fifth column called Dissolved a work in progress compilation. now, that's a good one, it has Lee Ronaldo, zoviet france, merzbow and others.

didn't Black Rain the band remake Anarchy in the UK?

DSBP has some awesome stuff, though some of it may be a bit cheesey at times. Either way, the good stuff they sell is really good, and Tommy T is a cool guy. I'd say that Biopsy, Diverje, Penal Colony and Aghast View are all safe bets.

I've never heard Krushed Opiates. Apparently they're good. Other good stuff that'll remind you of Chemlab would probably be: KMFDM, h3llb3nt, Die Krupps, Skold, Swamp Terrorists, Side 3 and either Ministry or RevCo.
Boot up your Soulseek and look for the tracks "Skold - Chaos", "KMFDM - Godlike", "h3llb3nt - Jet Boy Machine", "Side 3 - Broken Line", "Die Krupps - Metalmorphasis", "Dead Inside the Chrysalis - Erase your face" and "Shotgun Messiah - I'm a gun" for some of my favorites.
Although, this stuff is more on the industrial/rock side and I tend to listen to more powernoise and harsh ebm.

So, I'm going to instruct everyone to check out the the new This Morn Omina 2CD, and the old Synapscape Rage at http://www.ant-zen.com/
