my mother likes opera very much (which I hate), she likes most of the stuff from her time, like the Beatles and stuff, though she doesn't have any records by them and she'd never heard of Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin before I started to speak to her about them... she generally likes the more melodic stuff that I play...

my father likes silence above all and the chirping of birds

but yeah I know there's a special thread for this and that I'm going terribly off topic here, but I can't really help it, there isn't a good record shop in town and I don't have a credit card, so ordering on line isn't really possible either and well I don't have that much money to spend on records anyway, Sweden 's an expensive place

You have my condolences.
Maybe I'll buy a CD today and pretend that you bought it. I'll even tell you all about it. You can tell your friends you were there. And then I'll mail it to you or something.

Just kidding, I'd never do that.

I wouldn't want you as a parent anyway, pfoeh stinky american kids, I don't like them very much!

the above post was just an example of saying how weird it seems that someone can like the same stuff as his/her parents... though yeah a friend of mine goes with her parents to shows and stuff, so it happens...

picked up 'the art ensemble of chicago - americans swinging in paris' last night. i figure it'll be the last album i buy for a long time. it's actually a compilation of two albums 'les stances a sophie' and 'people in sorrow'. i've heard 'les stances a sophie' before and it's fantastic, but just like the ornette coleman i bought a few days ago i don't think i'll have the chance to listen to this for at least another week or two.
