Hound Dog Taylor and the Houserockers - Hound Dog Taylor ("Give me back my wig" being about the best song I've ever heard and that's not even exaggerating)
Fred McDowell - I Do Not Play No Rock'n'roll

Overall, with these recent purchases I am a happy little metal bug.

If you don't like Kind of Blue there is no point listening to anymore Jazz. I would also suggest a trip to your neartest Ear specialist.

The amazing thing about this recording is that until the latest CD release it was released in the wrong pitch. Even back on the original lp. I forget right now if it was only on a couple of tracks this happened or the whole record. Not sure how no one involved never noticed it. You would have figured at least the musicians would have noticed.

But even with that flaw it was still considered a great many's favorite jazz recording.

I was in Chicago for the weekend for unpleasant business reasons. To get the bad taste out of my mouth I stopped by my two favorite record stores. I picked up a nice haul.

Hopefully, I will get around to listening to them sometime this year.

Being young I'm one of the lucky one's who has only experienced the correct version...although, as a historical curiosity I may actually look around for one of the older issues, if only for comparitive purposes...

The last four CDs I bought were

Beastie Boys - To The 5 Boroughs, Quarashi - Jinx, Lostprophets - Start Something and Metallica - Load.

A bit before that I bought

A - Hi-Fi Serious and Slipknot - Vol 3: (The Subliminal Verses)
