I like melodious songs, but not if they're too slick... and Keane's singer likes to overact so much...

i just picked up 'the jazz samba encore!' by stan getz and luiz bonfa...
i've had the vinyl for a while but it's been halfway across canada for the last year... this is a great disc of mellow latin jazz the original 'jazz samba' and the 'getz gilberto' albums get more press and are more popular but i prefer the subdued nature of the encore! album... luiz bonfa's guitar playing remains very soft and mellow throughout the album and keeps the whole smooth vibe going through the entirety of the record... unlike the orginal jazz samba where charlie byrd steps up to the forefront quite a bit drawing attention to his guitar playing (like a normal jazz album)... and getz never really strays from his trademark tone on either album...

I would have suggested just picking up the Miles/Coltrane box since it's included and everything in it well worth having. They just reissued most of the Miles Davis box sets in cheaper versions. Instead of the metal spine version they are using the long box to make it cheaper.

They didn't have it there, and even if they did, my funds are limited. Keep in mind I am 13, I have almost no source of income Satch.

I keep forgetting how old you are. Your taste in quality music (especially jazz) throws me off.
I know about the limited funds for non essentials at that age. I just didn't wake up one day and have the collection I currently have. So, you will get there.
