I heard they were going out of or had already gone out of print and come on....Buckethead is one of my favorites.

Picked up a few since the last time I posted in this thread. I think about 4 months ago.

I did pick up today the latest from Tim Berne's Big Satan - souls saved hear

It would be more accurate to say I ordered it previously online and it arrived today. It's rare that I go to a store anymore to pick up new releases. The only stores I visit the last several years for music are for used lps/cds.

I recently just accuired a copy of Immortal Tech and like I said before if you like (good) rap not your mainstreap crap. Then you need to go out right now get in your car, truck, bike, skateboard, walk do whatever you have to do, to get this album.

I just got Tom Waits' Rain Dogs and The Zombies' Odessy and Oracle. I had no idea what Tom Waits sounded like, and I have to say, I was surprised, but far from disappointed. It's a very cool album. I haven't listened to The Zombies disc yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

I was at my favorite coffee shop in Nashville today (my beloved "Bongo Java"), and the house system was playing the best pop record I'd heard in ages, so I asked who it was, and the lady at the counter told me it was a band called Keane, so I marched right over to Tower Records and bought the CD, Hopes and Fears...and it's fantastic.

The house system was also playing an instrumental group called The Roots of Orchis that I liked enough to spend money on as well. Their album is called crooked ceilings. It's pretty cool post-modern sonic wallpaper music.

Was it 'Somewhere only we know' by Keane you heard? And do all the songs on that cd sound like that single?

Keane?

I'm not a big fan of Coldplay either, but they have at least something good...

Anyway you're lucky not to know the Dutch band Kane, they're even worse

good choices!

though Arid is not my cup of tea (anymore), it's still a nice pop/rock record...

and I was way more impressed with Girls In Hawaii than I was after listening to their cd...

There seems to be a trend these days not to like bands that actually write melodies and can sing them. Well, I'm one of those old grouches who still likes bands that actually write melodies and can sing them.
