Belle & Sebastian is great! Kind of mixture of sixties pop and smiths with some orchestral elements...

Anyway recent purchases:

Godspeed You ! Black Emperor, Yanqui U.X.O. (sounds good, sofar, though not as good as Skinny Fists and Slow Riot after the first spinnings)
DJ Shadow, Endtroducing (nice, very nice... favourite track: "Stem/Long Stem")
Massive Attack, Mezzanine (quite good, but some songs are a bit too long, favourite track "Inertia Creeps")
Tindersticks, Tindersticks II + Live at the Bloomsbury Theatre (not as good as Curtains and Waiting for the Moon, I think...)
Billie Holiday, Stormy Weather (cheap compilation, heaven't listened to this one yet)
the Gathering, Black Light District (haven't listened to it that much, bought it 'cause it was cheap...)

Borrowed some as well...
The Kinks, Greatest Hits (nice, going to make my own compilation out of it, I think...)
Black Sabbath, Greatest Hits (nice, especially "Iron Man" and "War Pigs", "Changes" sucks though...)
Jeff Buckley, Live at Sin-é (good, but still I'm glad I didn't pay money for it)
Serge Gainsbourg, De Gainsbourg à Gainsbarre (haven't listened to it yet)
Jo Lemaire, Ses Plus Grandes Succeses (some agreeable songs)

I don't own Live at St. Quentin, but I do own Folsom Prison, and that's pretty good.

Here's what I bought:

Big Brother & Holding company (Janis Joplin) - Cheap thrills
Kris Kristofferson - Me and Bobby McGee
Bob Dylan - The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
Rory Gallagher - BBC Sessions

These I bought for my father:

Chris Smither - "I'm a stranger too!" and "Don't drag it on"

I got "The Greater Wrong of the Right," the new Skinny Puppy in May. Then in July. I got "Ghost Tigers Rise: III," by Tiger Army. "Revival," Reverend Horten Heat," and "The Cure," of course by the Cure. Those three all came out on the same day. That was a good day. Those were the last I bought.

picked up 2 discs last friday...

the cinematic orchestra 'motion' - their first full-length and i'd say their best album... mainly instrumental with some rare vocal tracks that sound almost like vocal loops rather than the full on vocals from 'everyday'

stereolab 'mars audiac quintet' - i haven't actually listened to this disc yet but i know i've heard it before through a friend of mine... was 9 bucks so i figured why not...

what i REALLY wanted to get was the solid steel presents amon tobin live album but i don't think it's been released yet...

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - best of
Arid - Little things of venom
Johnny Cash - The man in black
Girls in Hawaii - From here to there
