Yeah, The Avalanches are really cool. I really enjoyed their album, Since I Left You. It's one of those CD's that you can put on and enjoy it the whole way through.

The video clip for Frontier Psychiatrist is good as well.

u know, when I first heard the Avalanches at my best friend's, I thought it sounded way too happy and catchy. but I bought the CD anyway because I like Frontier Psychiatrist a lot. after a few more listening, it really grew on me.

the videos they make are great too, particularly liked the Frontier psychiatrist one.

Just to join in my last albums I bought (same day) were:

Coldplay - Rush of blood to the head
Audioslave - audioslave
Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Vs the pink robots
Death in vegas - Contino sessions
Pure garage breaks and beats 2003

next up is 50 cent and the new massive attack one.

Rymi - Unity for the first time

Both are random Icelandic CDs I bought from http://www.smekkleysa.net

the accent of icelandic words falls in almost all cases on the first syllable. the exceptions are

1.words that have the negative prefix "ó-" meaning "un-" as in "unwilling" eg óhreinindi
2.words that have the prefix "all-" meaning "rather" or "very" eg allfeginn

in these two cases, the accent falls equally on the first two syllables or mainly on the second syllable.

Bora, holy focking crap, you ordered merzbow. are you serious? which album did you order? and I am very curious what made you want to buy his album.

I mean I am not an avid fan of Merzbow but I do have one album from him. his stuff is just so harsh that you can't listen to him very often at all. I listen to it when I need "head cleaner". and considered your musical taste from all the posts here, it doesn't sound like something that you would like.

but hey, you may like it after one listen, who knows. hope you will be awarded for being adventurous!

no way, merzbow got videos too???? crap, I never get to see any of them... anyway, I have Gore Beyond Necropsy. that is the only one I have. he has so many albums, and they all sound pretty much the same, as far as I know.

I did find one song few years back on napster called "silent nite"? I forgot the name now, but it is a xmas song and it is quite normal and then all of a sudden, it went to this huge focking noise assault. the most BADA$$ xmas song I have heard.

oh totally forgot to mention his Merzbox, there are 50 CDs and a t-shirt, a book, stickers, metal medallion, and a CD rom... that's just a lot of noize for one consumsion...
