i picked up the new clutch this weekend 'from beale street to oblivion'. neil fallon is definitely pissed off but doesn't really sound as angry as he normally does. the addition of keys to the band adds a distinct classic rock sound without sounding like a cheeseball ripoff. gotta say i prefer the original 'one eyed dollar' from the jam room album a bit better than the revamped take on this album but overall it kicks ass.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum: In Glorious Times
Probably the disappointment of the year for me. I don't know what happened here, but apparently Sleepytime have degenerated into a generic avant-prog band (yes, they exist ), sounding more or less exactly like Thinking Plague or the Art Bears throughout the majority of this disc. Honestly, all the more interesting/unique elements of Sleepytime's earlier records seem to be gone. Skip this one.

Ween: La Cucaracha
Another disappointment -- not terrible, but nowhere near as good as Quebec.

Ween: Shinola, Vol. 1
This one is significantly better than either of the above, as it is vintage, A-grade Ween.
