One of the few bands I can think of that really have no immediate comparisons...Sleepytime Gorilla Museum might be the closest, but not quite...

I guess one could say that if Tiamat had progressed in a more aggressive, experimental direction after Wildhoney instead of going all Clan of Xymox or whatever they might have ended up sounding something like Maudlin of the Well...sort of...
