the accent of icelandic words falls in almost all cases on the first syllable. the exceptions are

1.words that have the negative prefix "ó-" meaning "un-" as in "unwilling" eg óhreinindi
2.words that have the prefix "all-" meaning "rather" or "very" eg allfeginn

in these two cases, the accent falls equally on the first two syllables or mainly on the second syllable.

Broken Social Scene - You Forgot It In People

Very interesting alternative album. Hunted it down after reading about it on Pitchfork Media, as it was very highly rated there.
Great musicians, good vocalists and lyrics. It`s a huge ensemble so it`s dense and progressive. It`s a bit too much on the experimental side sometimes, both on the vocals and electronics, but I actually needed something different I feel after listening to this 3 times in a row now.

It`s possible to listen to most of their album on the homepage.

Thanks,
Haakon

Just yesterday I purchased "About Time" by Steve Winwood. I think this is probably his best album since he was with Traffic. It's easily his best solo work since "Back In The High Life". Just him on the hammond organ, a great guitarist, and great drums and percussion, plus top notch songwriting, and his passionate-as-always vocals. A total feast!

Also I bought the old '67 album from the Rascals, "Groovin'". Like Psychedelic Syd (who brought me kicking and screaming to this forum), I have a keen interest in the music of the psychedelic era. This album is more-or-less the equivalent of an American "Revolver". You can hear that the band was listening to "Revolver" and "Pet Sounds" a lot when they were working on these songs. A lot of their most famous hits are on this album, such as "How Can I Be Sure", "You Better Run", "A Girl Like You" and of course the very popular title track.
