Electro Clash

What do you think about this movement bringing back 80s sound and being more and more popular?

I think it is pretty lame. there are a few songs I like from Ladytron, and that's about it. I sampled some songs from Goldfrapp(spelling?) but they are really nothing too special to excite about.

if I like the old 80's electronic sound, tiny drum machine, little cutesy synth line, I rather listen to stuff from that era...

Electro-Ass!!!!
I'm 27, so I can appreciate alot of 80's music. But this new Electro-clash bull$hit sucks retarded prison ass. It's not as melodic as 80's stuff, and the vocals have just gotten more mono-tone and fake. It used to be about the vocals back then, now it's all about the keyboard. And the beats......the beats back then were louder and the sound was more layered. Now it's a paper thin snare, with alot of trebbelish holes in it, and the more it sounds like it was made on a $12 keyboard, the better. You can do more in the studio nowadays, but the old 80's songs still sound better......

my friend's cousin got a little radioshack keyboard from the 80's too, and it makes wonderful noise.

it really doesn't matter what equipment you use, it is what you get out of your equipment. the weirder they sound, the better

I agree....it's all about the person playing the keyboard. And, some of those crappy $12 keyboards can get some cool sounds out. I just think that these electro-trash people are trying to get an "empty" sound , like new rockers that are tryin' to use 4-tracks to get a "dirtier" sound. (white stripes)....It's so fake......

I agree, today's version of 80's music is atrocious.
But history has been known to repeat itself. Just like in the nineties Disco music was making a come back *shudders*
This era of 80's nostalgia is no better. It's been done before, so why not move on?

One good thing to come back (getting off the subject a little) is Grabage Pail Kids cards! I've waited fifteen years for this!

There's even a line of skateboards with the Grbage Pail Kids on them. They need to re-issue those first Jordan's too! Those rocked!
