some of the electro clash stuff is decent... i like just about anything i've heard by ladytron aside from blue jeans... and someother bands experimented quite well with 80s sounds... others just sucked balls... miss kittin and the hacker makes me ill... trans am did a lot of interesting post rock stuff with 80s sounds on their earlier stuff but their last album TA was full on 80s and i can't stand to hear it... mind you my friend who was alive in the 80s but who doesn't remember much from it thinks it's great....
i'm about the same age as homeless cop... so i remember the 80s from the first time they were around... and i'd really not like to see them coming back already...

Electro Clash, well i kinda felt there would be a resurgance of this style years later, i rememeber from 82 until maybe 88 this sound stuck around then faded as House and other various forms of electronic music took over, but the days of Quando Quango, Telex and the Italio type stuff is forgotten, but the new stuff like Miss Kitten, telepopmusik, and Felix the house cat are not bad but it is by no means as good as the orignal stuff but i do like some of it.
kinda bring back memories of music that you can really trance out to

Some of you are being way too critical, You shouldnt judge the music by how much it sounds like the original, so what if its different? This is 20 some odd years later. I think the new swing on the electro style is overall a pretty cool thing. Ive been listening to it lately. Of course there are some shitty ass songs here and there, but that goes for ANY music. I highly recommend the Playgroup - DJ Kicks compilation. It has old and new electro, tech-pop, synth pop etc... remixes that are just great! Also, metro area, human league, soft cell, some tiga, new order stuff like that.
You must appreciate also that, aside from some disco acts, the new wave, electro, and synth pop acts of the early early 80s was the birth of electronic music. It converged with disco later on to give birth to house and techno. We talking about some original ****in **** here!

Also, this electro revival was been goign on longer than 2 years now in places like texas and new york. You can hear its influence throughout tons of other electronic music.

I love My radio
yeah your probably right SVATIK could be because i am getting older and have been into dance music for over 13yrs soat any style that comes along it's like revisatation for me which is normal anyway new styles of music really don't exist anymore there just extensions of something else from the past with a twist on it, so i guess were more criticle of it because it sounds funny when the new gen or old gen try to bring the sound back to fit the new era so we judge it and say damn there pretty close but it sounds cheesy, lol it's just age and setting in and being loyal to a sound you grew up on. thats all, but it's all good to me if a track has heart.... and i can tell if it does my head will be bobing to it and i will say thats some funky azz Sh*t right Thurrr lol.

nothing is wrong with being critical. when I hear crap that smells stale, I will tell you "I hear crap that smells stale". when I hear good stuff, I will say "shit, this is good".
I am all for mixing old elements with new elements. the result could be quite enjoyable, like ladytron. but stuff like goldfrapp, fisherspooner, etc, it is tiring, not as much fun as they claimed even after the first listen. I rather listen to Cabaret Voltaire than those chumps.
I personally don't care how long the electro revival has been going on. if it doesn't sound fresh to me, it doesn't sound fresh, no matter how many years it has been going, u know. it is just a trend, it will die, just like double-breast jackets, acid-dye, tappered leg jeans, etc.
