oh an yes. I am black and from the south. so no waxing nostaglic about life in general during the 50s/60s or you will get lots of sarcastic coments from me.

Actually, I was pointing out that society sucked like that back then. It's true. Waxing nostalgic? If you think I was saying that was a good thing, I wasn't. I hate racism in all it's forms, so don't think for a second I was sayin' that shit was cool, cause' it's not.

Not even a close call for me... While there are numerous rock artists I like from the 90's (as well as the 80's and 70's), the 60's had a huge wealth of quality rock music... 60's for me (and not even a close call)...

Personally I have a preference for 70's rock, but 60's was the best. I still think the early 90's kicked ass.

By the way, I'm very, very sentimental about 60s music, and I agree with what Psychedelic Syd said about it. As for the 90s, I had really high hopes for the 90s based on all the interesting stuff that was happening in music between '87 and '93 or so...but was I ever disappointed. The 90s was a really drab decade as far as radio and the major labels are concerned (in my opinion). Everything I've really liked since the early 90s has been "off the beaten path", the stuff I've heard on adult alternative radio and things I've just stumbled on through word-of-mouth or being at the right place at the right time to hear something really great that very few people know about.

I tend to like the electronic design of 60's recording equipment. Particularly the late 60's. The sound can't be beat. A lot of the equipment back then was hand built for individual recording studios. There is so much character in music from back then. I suppose the same can be said about stuff that going on now though... just different technology today... Oh wait, I forgot the 90's are over.
