eminem's attitude turns me off. he thinks he's a badass, and he's not. I don't care if he grew up in 8 mile 12 mile 26 mile wtfever, he's just another man in the grand scheme of things. When he threatened Moby....that was PATHETIC. Oh yeah, big tough guy, gonna threaten some dude in front of millions of people that you KNOW you will never punch. He knows he can't do jackshit to anyone or face going to prison, so therefore, it was an empty threat, and he knew it, and that is the epitome of no integrity.

His voice, his lyrics, his basic background music, the people he raps with, his attitude, his fans, his image...

badfish,
Em's "attitude" would be annoying if it was taken literally... but eminem as a persona is too nasty even to be a ganster. his disses of backstreet boys, moby, and everyone else that dares to speak a word about him are so obviously "gansta" that they're beyond fake. I mean, would tupac have bothered to rant and rave out of the blue about homosexuals? basically, ganster is not what Marshall is about. Eminem is an existentialist, not a thug. he's a guy who's disgusted with himself, hates the world (and yet wants everyone to feel sorry for him), and is "infatuated with guns." he's "drowning in his sorrow," using the ganster symbols and modes of discourse to carry on a more complicated discourse with himself about himself.
so when he insults moby, he's just doing it for the kick of it. he's saying, "I'm nasty. hate me." he probably isn't even mad at moby. its the "I am/whatever you say I am" game.

you have a point dav, but i'm prone to taking one's outward facet literally. like they say, you never get a second chance to make a first impression.
basically, my life sucks too, a LOT of people's lives suck, but they don't sell ten million albums pandering that defeatist attitude to the youth of the world. basically, my advice to him is, life's a *****, get a helmet.
