Ohgr - Sunnypsyop
I've been hearing about this group recently from the Industrial crowd and some that claim they've been influenced by the electro-clash thing that's been going on lately. I saw the video and it's pretty interesting but the quality of all of the streams seems to be a little low. It's from his new album called Sunnypsyop. Has anyone ever heard of this guy or know if those albums are any good? Before I buy online I want to know if it's worth it. I've been looking everywhere for them at local music stores and I can't even find them.
Anyway, here are the videos:
Windows Media Format - High Speed
http://www.redmusic.com/video/OHGR/Majik.asx
High Speed Real Player
http://www.redmusic.com/video/OHGR/Majik_high.ram
Low Speed Real Player
http://www.redmusic.com/video/OHGR/Majik_low.ram
Also, here's the site I found at his record company. There are 2 MP3s for his other album called Welt that are found on there.

Ohgr is none other than Ogre from Skinny Puppy. I know Mark Walk worked on the Welt disc, not sure about this new one. I was heavily influenced by older skinny puppy. I preffer Skinny Puppy to Ogre side projects.
The welt album has a few redeeming parts within a few of the tracks. Its got a serious pop influence. Fairly decent production but nothing to write a book about.
A freind of mine picked up this second album, said he was disappointed. I wasnt surprised.
As far as distaste for the Welt album and the R is for Ritalin album (Ogre and Martin Atkins), probably just a personal prefference. I'd say it would be worth checking out depending on what you are currently listening to. If its a step up, buy. If not, avoid.

nice fetus picture you will love that mutter museum in philly then.
yeah, Ohgr is okay. at the end of the day, TOO DARK PARK still kicks every industrial albums' asses. when I first listened to it, I had no idea skinny puppy could make music that far out and gone.
I think I sampled some of the song on Ritalin but didn't dig it too much.
u like Download? I got the first album and that Sidewinder EP, I like them a lot. I also got that EP called Puppy Gristtle, NOISE jam fun!

Yeah TOO DARK PARK thats one album that nothing really comes close to. I long for the day Cey and Ogre wake up and remix and then re-remix that album. Probably wont ever happen.
Download is tit. On the last download disc released ogre does vox on a track called "frozen sky". Not a bad track at all.
Ive never heard the puppy gristle ep. Infact this is the first Ive heard of it! Any good?
I listen to this darkhop/ambient project called horchata, horchata remixed addiction 2x. both versions are really glitchy yet still hold true to the original track(s) (uses some of the remix work that puppy did on their own track as well) I dont know where one could find these remixes, I downloaded them when audiogalaxy was still a free entity.
strongly urge you to check out the newer download stuff, cevin key seems to embrace evolution.

Thought It Was Pretty Damn Good
I got the album a few days ago and I loved it. I also picked up Welt. Overall, I thought Welt was easier to get into but Sunnypsyop seems to be a little deeper and complex than the last album. Also, I found a site that has a better version of that video http://zed.cbc.ca/displayContent.do?...LTER_KEY=10631

Love the foetus pics =)
Yes, I agree. No side project will ever surpass Skinny Puppy.
I think Rabies is a great album also. I don't know about Welt though. It's an okay CD, but it's just missing something, and I can't put my finger on what exactly it is.

I don't know about that Evil, I'm still stuck on that Dystemper Remix cd with the Autechre remix. As for Welt, it's currently collecting dust in my room.

Debauchery,
Is that autechres remix of killing game? I cant remember if its killing game or assimilate that autechre re-mixed. Dont have the dystemper disc due to someone stealing it (happens way too often and I will kill the person when I discover who it is!) And speaking of Autechre... Any opinions on Draft 7.30 ?
Rabies is definitely a cool disc, but I rarely play it, and yet I play too dark park atleast once a month. Remix of natures revenge on the B-sides disc is fantastic with the accoustic intermittance.
There was a project called Kalte Farben (they remixed a FLA track on the Re-wind disc). Their disc (cant recall the name of the disc) is somewhat similar to old puppy. Its sad but Id rather listen to Kalte Farben who emulates puppy rather than listen to Ohgr who was a component in puppy.
