I don't think they ever did any better than Blood Sugar....
Frusciante had to go and get all smacked up...Actually, he was doin' that shit during the making of the album, so I don't know.....Maybe he should just do it on the weekends. Just kidding!!!
RHCP needs to get back to the funk, enough with the pop-$ellout verse, chorus, verse shit, Damn!!!

They're too soft and rounded now IMO.

Nah, they arent as good as way back when, but there new stuff is still pretty good - Tear from By The Way is one of my fave songs of theirs

i went to a RHCP concert a few months ago in Sydney, and its clear that they prefer their old stuff too, they played almost every song from BSSM, Frusciante at his best

I like One hot minute too, and dont understand why everyone disses it....oh well

yeah one hot minute had it's moments... it's a MUCH darker album than anything else by the chili peppers but there's some pretty solid stuff on it... coffeshop and walkabout are definately two of my favorite rhcp tracks...

In my mind, they were easily one of the most influential bands of the 90's.

But if we're voting on their best record, my votes for One Hot Minute. I know that sounds insane to most people, but I'm biased because that's the CD that really got me interested in music. I'd probably rank Deep Kick as one of my favorite songs.

hahahhaha, I was at that show...unless Flea has made a habit of wearing a santa suit around (which wouldn't completely surprise me). While the other guys were taking a short break, Flea played everyone christmas carols. It was definately the best show I have seen.

wow it seems like Im the only one on the internet who actually likes their new stuff, . Ive got 6 of their albums and I really like Californication and BTW. MM and OHM are my favourite older chilis albums. I guess I kinda prefer the rockier peppers to the funk. I like all chilis albums and I dunno why but EVERYWHERE I go online noone likes the new stuff and everyone thinks BSSM is their best album, weird eh?

I'm in a weird position because I didn;t actually care about RHCP until Californication was released. I got used to the 'new' stuff and then went back to the old stuff, only to find it wasn;t my thinkg, so I'm happy with their style change.

i must say i never really had been exposed to the chili peppers but was browsing this forum and dled the favorite songs every1 listed and damn their really good. I love good bass and listening to hot water music i thought it couldnt really get better than that but this is defintley up there, good band in my book but i guess im gonna side with the "old" stuff as far as whats better.

I'm not really a fan, but I like BSSM and Californication a lot.
I've heard BTW too and that's just boring imho.
Frusciante and Flea together are just amazing. Check Frusciantes solo-albums if you like some experimental guitar music. Murderers is just pure bliss!
